What it actually changes
The room is calmer, and nobody had to set anything up.
Nothing listening
No camera and no microphone in the screen — a hardware fact, not a setting. Both come from an iPhone someone brings into the room, and only while it is being used.
Nothing to fix
It is managed remotely and replaced if it fails. You will not be troubleshooting a device from two time zones away.
When you visit
A way back into the conversation.
The hardest part of a visit is often the quiet. Engage gives you somewhere to start — a song they danced to, a walk through a city they knew, a gentle prompt with no wrong answer.
Sing-along and video calls run from an iPhone brought into the room — yours when you visit, or a care partner’s. The phone supplies the camera and microphone and puts the picture on the television at full size, so the person you are visiting has nothing to hold and nothing to operate.
These two need an iPhone with an iCloud account and an Apple subscription, which Apple bills separately. That is a real extra cost and it is not part of what we charge, so we would rather you hear it here than discover it later. Everything else on the screen works with no phone in the room and nothing else to buy.
Sing along
Words on the big screen, an iPhone in the room as the microphone. Needs an iCloud account and a paid Apple subscription.
Face to face
A video call at television size, run from an iPhone in the room by whoever is there. Same iCloud and Apple subscription requirement.
Failure-free by design
Nothing tests them. Everything is built to open a story, not to score one.
